| I have a two year old male basset hound/corgi mix to give away to a good home. He is a very loyal dog, sweet and loving but would be best in a home with no other animals. He seems to get jealous of the other pets in the house. He tolerates young children, but older children who don't pull tails and ears would be better. We love him to pieces but he has snapped at my kids a few times when they are trying to play with him, and I can't take the chance that he would be near the baby and would get an ear pulled or tail pulled and he would bite at the baby. He is NOT a bad dog, he just needs to be in a home with less kids and other animals. Before anything is said about "not being able to handle your pets", I had Oscar before I got pregnant. I love him very much but I can't take the chance of him harming the baby. This is why I am going to be very selective about where he goes. I want to make sure he goes to a very safe and happy home. If you are interested or know of someone who might be, please send me a pm or email me @ jaimed@eaglecom.net. He would be a great companion for an older couple, or a couple with older children, or even a single person. He doesn't seem to like the chaos in our house... lol | |

| You can tell the Humane Society that if they don't find a home for him to call you and let you know. We did that about 23 years ago anyway and they found our dog a great farm home! | |

| I think he would get adopted very quickly because he is pretty sweet and so handsome, but I'd want to warn them about his behaviors and they might find him too dangerous and put him down... I'm stuck! | |

That's what they tell everyone, They are not allowed to tell where they went They actually didn't tell us. The hubby used to pump wells back in those days and we drove past the farm where he lived and seen him. He had very distinct markings.

| Have you looked for a rescue organization? We found a King Charles Cav. rescue club when we needed help with placement of one of our dogs. We had to give up the funniest little clown dog, because he started going nuts one day when a stray walked next to our fence, and he was never the same. He snapped at everyone who came near him. It was too risky with kids here daily. | |

I think he's trying to let them know who the alpha is, it's fine with dogs, but when the baby is involved it is a problem, unless you are willing to go through very strict training with him, then you'll need to find him a place. What do you do when he snaps at the other dogs?

| Call your vet, I'm sure they can help you with some behavioral correction techniques you can try. If he's in a kennel for long periods, that could be leading to his aggresion. I'll pm you, I kinda have some of the same issues with my dog, I'll tell you what we do. | |
