| The polycarts aren't termed a success at my house. The old system worked much better for me. | |

| It is not the program that is deemed successful, its the transition into it that was successful, meaning everyone has their cart, and the bitching has slowed down. The program itself will always be both a social loss, and a monetary drain to the city and her residents. Associated costs will long be hidden along with the money lining the City Officials pockets. But It will, in its time, be lauded as a success, whether it is or not. Continue to feed at the trough of public perception, as the Government feeds it to you. Suck it. |

| They should have thought about the wind issue with those carts. I don't know how many times I had to rescue Pedro because he went strolling down the alley. I have learned to keep Pedro closer to the house so that he doesn't venture off anymore. | |

| Interesting indeed. Anybody notice how they let 2 city workers go at city wages, yet only saved $24,500 meanwhile charging an extra $3.20 per can per residence? Interesting indeed. | |

| Ellis has the short wide black ones that don't tip easy and they're not bad. I protested them at first because of cost, but they hold alot and dogs aren't knocking them over spreading garbage around my yard. | |

The two city employees were released through attrition. They chose when to quit or retire. Apparently it was mid year. Next year they will save $78,000 from those two positions. This topic was brought up in our last neighborhood meeting. The general opinion was that there is less trash blowing around the neighborhood. In that regard they are a success.

| Only thing I can add is,...why not set the trash cans on the same side of the alleys. Then the trucks would have to make one pass. Um,...as long as it is on the South side of the alleys going West and East. Hehe! | |

| Why didn't the city get a pickup mechanism built that would pick up the carts from either side? | |

| The article doesn't mention if they use more gas since they go up and back twice. Also, it would seem to take longer, thus the trucks running longer, and thus using more gas.
I had to laugh at my neighbor, who is too damn lazy, so he puts his trash bags by his back door, which of course a dog gets into. FINALLY, the guy realized that he could wheel his cart back and forth on trash days.

| Just part of the City's Wonderful Plan of making the Trash Service more efficient! Yep, lets make more trips up and down the alleys to make it a better use of Public Resources. | |
