Did something here in town get struck by lightning. About 10 mins ago I seen the bright flash outside and heard the thunder and now firetrucks are going down east 13th.

Lightning came close to something. Don't think there was a direct hit.

Sounds like maybe at the airport.

Yeah well,I live out here near the airport and I was so scared at that one crack of thunder I jumped ,almost hugged my brother-in-law(eww!) and twiched all crazy and now my lower back and ass really hurt-waaaaa.

I used to like snow, and still like a light 1 or 2 inch snow to reflect my Christmas lights in. So long as it warms up the next day.

I used to like snow, but that was before I realized how many wrecks and falls result from it. Before my dad, A state highway dept. worker missed Christmas with me the first time.

I liked snow before I had repeated ear and sinus infections that worsened each winter. Before I had to work bailing out my cellar during a power outage in the snow because a water heater flooded the cellar.

I liked snow before I realized it meant hardships on livestock and before I observed flocks of sparrows cannibalizing other sparrows hit by cars on interstate because snow had covered all alternate sources of nutrition.

I liked snow before I realized all the heart attacks shoveling it cause. I liked snow before I realized the tense moments of having to drive in a blizzard wondering if I'd make it home. I liked snow before I thought about the reality that it causes alot of trouble.

Ya'll enjoy your snow when it comes because someone else will no doubt be suffering because of it. But don't let your kids read this. Let them think snow is magical while they still can. And if you still think it's magical, that's ok too, cause I like a fresh new untracked snow, especially when I have lights up. But as soon as traffic starts and shoveling the walks ruins the look, I'd just as soon it be 70 degrees again.

It scared a cat up a tree. Rescue squad was on it. Fire chief was treated for a scratch.
