I read in passing today about a prayer given at a McCain rally today (Oct. 11, 2008). It was a local preacher from Davenport Iowa, praying with those godly republicans. Went like this:

During the invocation, a local pastor said: “There are plenty of people around the world who are praying to their god, be they Hindu, Buddha, or Allah, that [McCain’s] opponent wins. I pray that you step forward and honor your own name."

'Cause we all know that Gawd votes Republican. Conceited bastards.

He forgot the Flying Spaghetti Monster. Or have you given up on being Pastafarian? Smile

I must say I am disappointed in you though. If all of you who were not happy with the two "allowed" choices threw your votes away like me it'd send a monumental message. As it is the two ruling parties see no reason to change if you'll all still pick between them.

Hell, Ratz- I disappoint people every day... you ain't so special.

I agree with you in theory, and I voted Libertarian in 2004. At the time, I didn't have a strong preference between Bush or Kerry... didn't really like either one. And I mean to remain registered as a Libertarian.

But I've since chugged the Obama Koolaide- and I actually have a preference this time between the two candidates. I know that my vote doesn't really matter for several reasons (including the bane of Nitro's existence: The Electoral College). But this time I'm voting mostly for the sake of conversation. Nobody cared when I voted for Badnerik. But we sure get into some interesting discussions at work when I tell people that I'll be voting for Obama.

Do what you want Bighead. I get asked all the time why I always vote for losers and my reply is usually something like my loser not getting in office is nowhere near as tragic as their losers winning, and at least I didn't help that happen.
