I'm working on my MP3 collection. Getting all tracks identified and getting cover art. What a pain. Im terying out a few programs but neither one is really filling the bill very good.

I'm also attempting to re-organize my MP3 collection. I'm parsing out duplicates first and then plan to ID all of the tracks (then cover art). Let me know what worked well for identification.

Well, when I first got me an mp3 player (a Sony Walkman from WalMarts) and loaded it with a few of my CDs i ripped. Then the first time I hooked it up to my computer again it seemed to duplicate what I had and ended up with a double version of everything. Several hundred songs worth. So I got that going for me. I got about 8 gig of music, alot of track 1s. I just hate to screw it up and end up having to rip my cd collection again. I got several back up files taking up too much space. If i get it done it wont be too bad. Maybe I need to read the read me file ?

I'm evaluating a product called TuneUp Companion. It's NOT free but it appears to be a one stop solution for renaming unknown files, finding duplicates, and correcting album art. http://www.tuneupmedia.com/download.php

Yeah, I got the same one. Seems to produce alot of computer crashes and lags. But I maintain high hopes for it, or 20 bucks down the drain.

I came to the conclusion that TuneUp Companion sucks. I uninstalled it all together. Got tired of fighting it.

Zortam seems pretty cool, as it comes with lyrics for alot of songs. Good for finding cover art too.

I'm about ready to GiveUp on TuneUp as well. It redefines SLOW... I'll try Zortam, thanks!

Yeah, using Zortam, I'm just going thru them all getting the rest of the info dialed in, it aint so bad cuz I got good tunes. Did a session on it yesterday and cleared up prob 25 MP3s, a few hundred more and Ill be in business. Lots of Buck Owens and The Buckaroos were unrecognized track 1s, lol!
