Unemployment is back up to 9.1%.

Home values are the lowest in years.

Consumer confidence is frighteningly low.

Looks like the second half of the double-dip recession has started.

And Republicans are rejoicing!

Hell, I bet the repubs got wood.

But I need something explained. A die hard republican told me once that you have to look at previous administrations to explain the full story. When things looked crappy under Reagan he said it was Carter's fault.

When things seemed to improve under Clinton he said it was all to do with Reagan's good work before.

When there were problems under GW he said it was all Clinton's fault.

So do things going downhill now mean Bush sucked really bad, or did Clinton just put a 10 year delay on his hex?

Politics reminds me of a sports fan I know. When his team loses it's always about cheating players on the other team, or bad refs, blah blah. He rarely admits his guys sucked, but if he does he's always sure to say it's because they were too tired, or one player didn't feel well or whatever lame excuse he can make.

Wanna know the truth? I don't need spin doctors. Bush sucked. Obama sucks. Politics sucks....

Can't argue with that.

Maybe there are politicians who are rejoicing, but those of us who are affected by this economy aren't.

One thing is up that should be up, though. That would be campaign contributions to Ron Paul, which totaled more than a million bucks today.

the new york weiner is out
