| Luke, you should buy this since .270 is one you like. For that trophy buck or bill collector that you need a fast shot at. | |

| I've never understood the point of a setup like this. Why not just get a rifle? | |

It gives you the power of a rifle cartridge with the challenge of a pistol shot

| A musket would be even more of a 'challenge'... doesn't make it a good idea. | |

The Encore also has interchangeable barrels in 95 different calibers and can be easily converted from pistol to rifle and back again.

| Oreally? Now that IS a neat idea.
Come to think of it, a friend of mine has something pretty similar- maybe the same thing. Has barrels for .223 and .357 magnum as I recall. It was fun for testing assorted 'experimental' reloads.

Could you whip a .270 rifle out of the seat next to you as fast? I've seen 30.06 in pistol too. Alot of firepower in an agile weapon.

| Yes, that might come in handy if a buffalo is trying to get into the car with you. But I think my .357 magnum would be better option for self-defense in most cases.
Some people like to hunt deer with a handgun, and I reckon this would be a good one. But again, I don't get it. I mean, if you're looking for a challenge- try taking one out with a hatchet.

| Maybe it's about the challenge of hunting with a pistol to some Bighead, but for others it's just having the power of a rifle round in a pistol. Remember those guys who went on a rampage with AK's that were wearing vests? Your .357 would require a head shot to guarantee success. A 30.06 would rip their guts out. | |

yeah but in pistol form you have to be way to close for my comfort. with a rifle and scope, you can reach out and touch them at several hundred yards with a larger margin of safety. If I have to be at pistol range, I want something that packs a wallop as well as a magazine of several backup rounds. The TC pistols are one shot then you have to manually reload.... not good in a combat situation..

| Yeah, I know. I'd prefer the .308 FAL, or a G3 variant or tactical shotgun for combat depending on the range. For close up the Russian Saiga shotguns are nice. And I bet a 30.06 pistol would be an ear splitting fire breather. Might scare the hell out of them. | |

| I shot a .50 cal action express revolver that was custom built on a Ruger redhawk frame. even with the compensating ports, it was a monster to hang onto. when the trigger was pulled all you could do is hang onto it as best you could to keep it in your hands. there was no controlling the recoil like you might with a .357. It would literally fly up as far as my head before I could stop it from getting away | |

| Biggest handgun I shot was a .454 Casull. It'd sting your hand and had a healthy recoil. I saw a 460 Weatherby revolver test on TV once that made a .44 mag look like a toy. Seen more than one youtube vid of someone hitting themself in the face with a .50 or .454 Some guys especially seem to find it funny to film their girlfriends shooting them for the first time. | |
