| posted at 9:10 from the HDN say: | Quote: | In early Ellis County results — paper ballots have yet to be counted — challenger Glenn Diehl leads incumbent Dennis Pfannenstiel 1,600 to 1,428 for a seat on the Ellis County Commission.
In the other Ellis County Commission race, incumbent Vernon Berens leads challenger John Schmeidler 1,933 to 1,316.
In local ballot propositions, the $5 million Hadley bond issue designed to fund an expansion of county offices is failing by a count of 2,020 to 3,792.
A sales tax issue that would fund a proposed sports complex in Hays is passing 4,011 to 3,226. |
Also I just want to say this
Now see THIS is why the electoral college is crap. And I am NOT saying this because McCain is losing. The President of this country should be decided by who the freaking people vote for, not this electoral college crap.

In the other Ellis County Commission race, incumbent Vernon Berens retained his seat against John Schmeidler 2,326 to 1,618.
In local ballot propositions, the $5 million Hadley bond issue designed to fund an expansion of county offices was beaten soundly by a count of 4,021 for and 7,512 against.
A sales tax issue that would fund a proposed sports complex in Hays has passed 4,596 to 3,683.
A sales tax issue in Victoria to help fund city government operations has been passed 329 to 203.
In the presidential race, John McCain carried Ellis County 9,998 to Barack Obama's 3,894. |

| I just have to laugh flipping between CNN and Foxnews how they electoral counts are different. I still can't understand how they predict someone to win a state when the state still have 0% of the precints reporting. |

| Don't look like my libertarian vote caused McCain to lose. I agree L2C. The damn electoral vote stinks. Some states get way too many votes, especially California with 55.
DX.. California is full of minorities, gays, and ultra liberal nuts. Not likely McCain has a chance there. |

| I HAVE 3 QUESTIONS:
1.) How long will it be before the offical word has been made?
2.) Is there enough of a margin in any of the local races where the paper ballots and the provisional ballots will make a change in the results?
3.) What about the race between Alberta Klaus and write in canidate Dottie Staab? |
