I realize this is short notice. This is an opportunity to get some yard work or other tasks around the house done.

Grasp the opportunity to think spring by buying some hours of handy guy work! The young men of
Alpha Gamma Rho are ready to be bought for spring tasks in a silent auction
beginning at 11:00 and concluding at 2:00 at Neighbars Bar & Grill. Come in
time for lunch. Watch your bid!

All proceeds will be applied by Hays Neighbors
toward community development projects in the campus neighborhood of
Hays.

I could put in a proxy bid for you. Do something nice for your mom. Or your brother.

I was actually thinking about that for my mom. The monies raised benefit the college area, but work could be done anywhere in town?

Can you give me an idea what winning bids have been in the past?

$10 per hour is a common winning bid. Anywhere in town, yes. These guys have construction experience as well as a full range of yard experience. You would have to supply tools. (or borrow them from me)

I'll be taking a laptop so I can keep you updated.

Just talked to mom, she says she'd be ready for something like that next year. She doesn't have anything that she would need help with until mid to late summer. She's very stubborn, insisting on doing things for herself. Crazy old lady!

It went well. About the same as last year, dollar wise.
