My daughter wants to be Abby from NCIS for Halloween. I need to find something that looks like a white lab coat and will fit a size 6 girl.

I'm hoping someone out there has one their kid used before and I can get it a little cheaper than that.

If she can hold off a year, I'm sure there will be many surplus lab coats available.

You can buy a med student residency jacket. They are the short version. Then you may have to trim it to the length you need

Careful Blackie. Sometimes those cheap sounding dates really like spending "your" money. Smile

Hey Celtic, how bout nitro's link? You could use the Halloween outfit as a fun way of teaching your girl to run a sewing machine.

Wait a minute- a girl running a sewing machine?? I heard of such a thing years ago, but passed it off as nonsense. I've never seen it in person.

Next think you'll be talking about women doing the dishes. bounce

The Feminist Guide, Rule #29 subsection 5, paragraph 4 clearly states that sewing by women is allowable if chauvanist pig males who have been deemed useless and devoid of rights do not benefit in any way, and if it is done solely for the pleasure of the almighty female. Smile

Rat & Nitro: Someday, I shall have my dream sewing machine. I want one of those Berninas that has the embroidery attachment. As it is at present(don't have money or room for my own), I have to go to my Mom's to use her machine. Since she lives 90 miles away, it's a bit inconvenient. Though, I may end up doing that.

Bighead: I sew, embroider, crochet(barely), bake pies and rolls, and cook. I do laundry, dishes, and general cleaning. I'm also a happy geek who likes all kinds of non-mainstream stuff like rpgs, comics and sci-fi. As a high schooler I also drove tractor, tossed bales, took care of livestock and cut muskthistle. I can put together a computer, but prefer not to as I'm out of practice. tongue

You sound well rounded Celtic, like alot of farm girls. Hell didn't Rosie Grier the football player do some kind of needlepoint? Men on sailing ships sew the sails. Military men carry sewing kits to mend uniforms in the field. Though it might offend Bighead's dominatrix, I see no reason women can't still run sewing machines. And if you like to sew it might be your affordable costume answer.
